Overview
For the website our goal was to clearly showcase their specialisation in custom bonded warehousing. We aimed to highlight their extensive warehousing capabilities and their industry journey. To engage users more effectively, we included dynamic 3D animations that demonstrated the scale and functionality of their operations, enhancing the visual appeal and interactivity of the site.
UI DESIGN
Worked closely with the lead designer to develop and refine the visual aspects, ensuring the website was attractive and user-friendly across various devices.
MOTION DESIGN
Created unique 3D animations using After Effects and Blender, focusing on enhancing visual appeal without compromising website performance.
CLIENT ENGAGEMENT
Engaged directly with clients during meetings to integrate their feedback into our design process, aligning closely with their vision and goals.
RESPONSIVE DESIGN
Made sure the website adapted smoothly to different screens, enhancing accessibility and user experience on both desktop and mobile.
SEO
Implemented SEO strategies such as keyword optimisation, meta descriptions, and image alt text to improve search rankings and optimised website elements to ensure fast loading times.
UI DESIGN REFINEMENT
I began by assessing the existing design drafts from the lead designer. This review helped me identify areas needing enhancement, which guided the development of additional UI screens tailored to improve user experience and functionality.
MOTION DESIGN
Leveraging After Effects, I created detailed animations that brought the UI elements to life. These animations added depth and movement, crucial for engaging users and enhancing the site’s visual storytelling.
INTEGRATION & DEVELOPMENT
Using Webflow, I integrated the animated elements and new designs into the website. This phase was crucial for ensuring that each component worked harmoniously both visually and functionally across all platforms, maintaining optimal performance and interactivity.
ADAPTING MID-PROJECT
Joining the Veritas Logistics project mid-way presented a unique set of challenges. I needed to quickly get up to speed with the existing design framework and rationale. I tackled this by working closely with the lead designer, diving deep into the project’s history and ongoing goals, which allowed me to seamlessly integrate and contribute effectively.
LEARNING WEBFLOW
As I stepped into this project, I was faced with the immediate challenge of mastering Webflow, a platform I hadn’t used before. Learning on the fly, I gradually built my skills with each task, integrating complex animations and enhancing the site’s interactivity as I progressed. This hands-on approach not only streamlined the project’s development but also significantly broadened my technical expertise, reinforcing my ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments.
Learnings
The Veritas Logistics website project was challenging, indeed, but it was also incredibly rewarding as it pushed me to learn and grow. Diving into Webflow without prior experience was tough, but it equipped me with valuable web development skills that I could immediately put into practice. Balancing complex animations without impacting site performance taught me the importance of optimisation and efficiency. This project not only sharpened my technical skills but also reinforced the importance of resilience and adaptability in my professional development.
